What’s the Difference: Teaching, Coaching and Mentoring?

The Teacher…

Earlier in my career, I was doing typical teacher stuff: teaching a STRUCTURED curriculum over specific topics, Taking attendance, lesson planning, grading papers, etc. I had upwards of 28 students at one point.

Overall, this position was more ROBOTIC, and unless the curriculum changed, daily life was pretty much the same.

The Coach…

Midway through my career as a Cosmetology instructor, I began offering hands-on classes that aided the teachings taught within the classroom. The classes, open to the public, were taught outside of school for a fee.

This is how Luxe Locs and The Mane Extension came about. Along with the technical side of the TRAINING, I offered a mini-business course that would help enrollees boost their visibility online and earn more income.

As a coach, i had more control of how the topics (and they were more specific, tailored) were taught and felt more fulfilled, as i could touch more people and provide a less rigid experience.

The Mentor…

At this point, i am a built-in navigation system in the car - TURN RIGHT! 😂

everyone does not have the luxury of having a navigation system in their car. Some have to rely on apps like waze, google, and apple maps, and all three will lead you to the same place eight different ways. tHAT’S LIKE FIGURING IT ALL OUT ON YOUR OWN - YOU WASTE TIME, MONEY (AND GAS)!

as a mentor, i am more selective about who can enroll, as the service provided is a more exclusive, luxurious experience. I provide more of self-improvement, professionally and personally, long-term.

unlike teaching and coaching, this is less hands-on technical training AND ONE HUNDRED percent online, 1-on-1! You meet your goals sooner, and the investment is priceless.

My foundational course, b.l.o.o.m. in business, IS DESIGNED FOR BEAUTY AND GROOMING PROFESSIONALS (LICENSED OR NON-LICENSED) WHO WOULD LIKE TO EXPAND THEIR EXPERTISE IN BUSINESS and increase their revenue working smarter not harder.

fROM SETTING your BLUEPRINT FOR SUCCESS TO MASTERY OF GOALS, WE LEAVE NO STONE UNTURNED!
